After meeting with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Canadian Parliament, Simon was invited to speak on Canada Day to share his inspirational story and encourage his fellow Canadians to register their donation decisions.
Long a respected voice on organ donation and transplantation, Simon has been a fearless advocate for sensible policies that maximize the opportunity for organ donation and transplantation to save lives.
Simon spends time in the UAE assisting in the development of their organ donation and transplant systems. Collaborating with the UAE governments, as well as Cleveland Clinic and Mayo Clinic, Simon brings his expertise and profile to this burgeoning part of the world. From here, Simon has worked with Jordan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Egypt, and many more countries in the Middle East, north Africa, and south Asia regions.
Simon’s first heart transplant was performed in England by Sir Terence English, who was knighted for his Nobel work as a pioneer in the field of transplantation after having successfully completed the very first heart transplant in the United Kingdom. Simon regularly returns to honor Sir Terence’s work by helping raise funds for the Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
